You don't need to be fit to start here.
That's not a throwaway line. Every person who's now a regular at CrossFit Ancoats walked in for the first time not knowing what to expect. Here's exactly what happens when you do.
Step 1 - Get in touch.
That's it.
Drop us a message and we'll have a quick chat, in person or over the phone, about where you're at and what you're looking for. No assessment, no awkward fitness test. Just a conversation.
From there, we'll book you into your first Foundations session.
Step 2: Foundations Course
Three one-to-one (or small group) sessions with a coach before you join a class. Each one covers a different set of movements, includes a short workout, and is tailored to you, your body, your background, your pace.

By the end, you'll know how to move well, how to scale anything to your level, and exactly what to expect when you walk into your first class.
WHAT A NORMAL WEEK LOOKS LIKE
Over 35 classes a week across five days.
Monday to Friday there are CrossFit classes at:
6am, 7am, 8am, 12pm, 5:30pm, 6:30pm and 7:30pm.
Most members come 3-4 times a week and build from there.
On Sundays we run Olympic Lifting at 10am and the Sunday Roast at 11am, a 90-minute endurance session for those who want something different at the weekend.
Every class has three versions.

CrossFit - learn new skills, get stronger and build your fitness with wellness and longevity at its core.

Lift & Breathe - a cleaner version of the workout with no high-skill gymnastics or Olympic lifting. Genuinely challenging, just less complex. Good for beginners and anyone who prefers it that way.
Compete - higher intensity, competition-style. For those who want to push.
You choose which track suits you that day. Your coach is there to support you.

FAQ
I'm not fit enough to start CrossFit.
That's the most common thing we hear. Foundations exists for exactly this reason. You'll build fitness through training, you don't need it before you arrive.

I've got an injury / I'm coming back from a long break.
Tell us in your intro chat. Everything is scalable and your coach will work around it. We've had people start with significant limitations and build from there over months.

I tried CrossFit before and it wasn't for me.
Worth having a conversation. We're health and longevity focused - not competitive in atmosphere. It might be a different experience.

What do I need to bring?
Trainers, water, something to train in. That's it. We're at 102 North Western Street, 4 minutes from Piccadilly station.
